Post-call summary

A post-call summary is a short, structured write-up generated when a call ends: who called, why, what was agreed and what needs doing. It is sent to the business or written to its systems.

Also called: call summary, call notes

The summary is what most owners actually read. It compresses a transcript into the handful of facts that matter and can be delivered by email, SMS, a portal notification, or pushed into a CRM as a note or task.

Summaries are also the substrate for other features: caller memory reads past summaries, and analytics count outcomes from them. A good summary follows a fixed shape so it is easy to scan and easy for other software to parse.

Because a summary is generated, it can be wrong. Keeping the transcript and recording alongside it lets the reader check.
