Webhook comms

Webhook comms is the use of webhooks as a communication channel. Call events, messages and outcomes are delivered as HTTP requests to a URL the business controls, for its own systems to act on.

Also called: webhook notifications, event notifications

Instead of an email or a text, the business receives a machine-readable event, "call ended", "booking made", "message left", with the details as structured data. Its own software can then file, route or respond to it however it chooses.

This is what makes a receptionist fit into an existing operation rather than beside it: a ticketing system, a dispatch board or an internal chat tool can all be fed directly.
