Real-time CRM lookup
Real-time CRM lookup is a receptionist reading a customer record from a CRM during the call, so it can greet a known caller and answer from live data instead of taking a message.
Also called: live CRM lookup, mid-call lookup, CRM screen pop for AI
The caller is matched to a record, usually by phone number, while the call is still connecting or in its first seconds. The receptionist then knows the name, the open jobs, the last conversation and whatever else the CRM holds, and can use it in the next sentence.
It is the AI equivalent of a screen pop for a human agent, and it depends on the same things: a reliable match, an API the receptionist can call quickly, and rules about what may be disclosed to a caller whose number could be spoofed.
Lookup during the call is distinct from sync after it. Most deployments want both: read the record while talking, write the outcome once the call ends.
